Construction begins on England-Scotland offsea interconnector, set to cost £4.3bn

There was a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony at either end of the £4.3bn Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) offshore interconnector between England and Scotland as construction begins. The “electricity superhighway” will be 506km when complete.
