Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) has added a new machine to its specialist piling fleet. The Hütte HBR 204MP is designed to install 300mm to 600mm Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) Piles and Sectional Flight Auger (SFA) Piles, as well as temporary and permanent casings and overburden systems using air or water flushing.

This ability to handle such a broad range of techniques makes it ideally suited to challenging commercial sites, industrial developments, and infrastructure schemes, RBL claims.
The new rig has an innovative segmental mast design, which allows the rig to be reconfigured on site into multiple mast and stroke combinations, from a full 15.5‑metre mast with a 10.6‑metre stroke down to a compact 5.7‑metre mast with a 3.8‑metre stroke.
As these changes can be completed in under half a day, the machine can quickly be reconfigured to compensate for such constraints as low headroom, restricted access, or varying ground conditions without the delays or environmental impact associated with mobilising additional equipment. This ability will help RBL to reduce transport movements, improve efficiency and lower the carbon footprint of each project.
When compared with other rigs currently in the RBL specialist fleet, the HBR 204MP delivers a longer mast and stroke option, faster configuration changes, and the added benefit of integrated air‑flush capability for overburden work. These features will allow RBL to undertake more complex schemes with greater confidence and reduced programme risk, making the rig particularly valuable for the company’s growing commercial workload where ground conditions can be more unpredictable and access more constrained.
The rig is operated via radio remote control, providing the operator with all round visibility, better positioning accuracy and a safer working environment. It is equipped with all required industry-standard safety systems while supporting supervisors and operators with a user-friendly, modern control set-up. In addition, the inclusion of a Stage V engine with a fuel-active management system helps reduce emissions and fuel consumption.
A second HBR 204MP is on order from Hütte Bohrtechnik, Germany, and will be delivered later in the year, further strengthening RBL’s technical capability and operational efficiency.
